’The Magic is back!’ was the theme of this year’s Sales and Purchasing Convention and it could not have been more aptly named. After a year and a half of working remotely due to the pandemic, the IWDC Members and Vendor Partners were finally able to meet face to face again at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas from June 22 to June 24.
Day one of the show had multiple IWDC committee meetings discussing the cooperative’s direction, and exciting new opportunities in the market. In the afternoon, IWDC’s Next Generation Group met to hear a presentation on ‘How to Mine Your Own Data’ put on by Chris Rogers and Joe Grussenmeyer of Sales-I. The Next Gen event was then followed by an energetic opening reception and dinner mixer involving over 500 Member and Vendor participants.
Day two’s morning kicked off with our general session in which we recognized our new Members and new Vendors to the cooperative. This was followed by Vendor presentations in which our Members got to hear about the latest and the greatest the industry has to offer. After lunch, staff and select Vendor sponsors led three Member-only workshops designed around IWDC’s Weldmark® product line expansion. Later in the afternoon IWDC hosted a Focused Products Display, where Vendor Show Sponsors showcased their focused, new, unique or best-selling products while networking with Members.
