Time flies when you’re having fun, and the speed of change at Gas Control Equipment (GCE) has been very swift indeed. With GCE formed in 1987 out of a merger between the welding businesses of AGA and ESAB, 2012 sees the company celebrate 25 years of successful business.
It’s been a quarter of a century epitomised by continuous development and an ongoing outreach into new markets. GCE has grown at a healthy pace due to an initial strategy of consolidating the industrial gas equipment business, starting in Europe.
Following the 50-50 joint venture between AGA and ESAB that created GCE on 1st January 1987, the group embarked on a vigourous path of development and acquisition activity that really took shape after the fall of the Berlin Wall in November 1989.
