GAWDA’s annual convention will hit the Big Apple on Saturday, October 8, and continue through Wednesday, October 12, 2011. This year, the Convention’s 67th, attendees will be able to enjoy some of New York City’s greatest attractions, including a Broadway matinee, a comedy show, and a handful of tours and activities, in addition to the traditional receptions, meetings, events, and sessions that make up this anticipated event.

Peter McCausland
Peter McCausland has been Chief Executive Officer of Airgas and a Board Director since 1987, and also serves as President of the company. Outside of Airgas, McCausland serves as a Director of the Fox Chase Cancer Center and the Independence Seaport Museum, and serves on the Board of Visitors at both of the College of Arts and Sciences at the University of South Carolina and the Boston University School of Law.
Richard Picciotto
Firefighter and inspirational speaker Richard Picciotto was an FDNY Battalion Commander in Manhattan on September 11, 2001. Following the terrorist attack, Picciotto rushed to the World Trade Center to rescue those inside, but soon found himself trapped in the smoldering rubble of the North Tower after its collapse. Buried for more than four hours, he emerged almost unscathed and was the highest-ranking firefighter to survive the collapse.
