Jim Appledorn could not mark his retirement after 43 years with Lincoln Electric as he wished due to the global coronavirus (Covid-19) pandemic, so had to make do with a virtual send-off.
“It has really been awkward retiring at a time when all the major events have been cancelled and everyone is working from home,” Appledorn told gasworld.
“I did have a couple of ‘virtual gatherings’ to toast my last day of work and those were very nice, but it wasn’t quite the same without the hugs and the handshakes!”
