Actions to meet increased demand

A lot has been going on at Kaplan Industries in the last year, and gasworld US caught up with Bud Allen and Devon Goodman to get a better understanding of the Ohio-based company’s recent developments, such as a new facility to help meet increased demand. Kaplan has expanded its extraction gas capacity so it can provide distributors with packaged gas for the growing industrial hemp and legalised cannabis markets. The company, which provides the welding, beverage and medical markets with compressed gas cylinders and equipment, has also been providing some vital services during the coronavirus (Covid-19) pandemic.

Your new 15,000 sq. ft. facility being built – can you tell us more about this? Why is it needed?

Bud Allen, Vice-President Marketing: Kaplan Industries expects the new warehouse to be finished and operational by summer of 2021 bar any delays from the Covid pandemic and or material delays as result of such. Due to continued growth realized over the last three years and the need to stock more finished and semifinished product, additional warehouse space was needed. This new warehouse facility will enable us to provide our customers shorter lead times on the most popular products and assure them quick turn-around time to their customers.
