A safety seminar held at the National Taipei University of Technology on 2nd September gathered more than 200 people to listen to experts in the field of industrial gas safety in the Asia-Pacific.
Jointly organised by the Asia Industrial Gas Association (AIGA), the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) of the Ministry of Labour of Taiwan, the Taiwan High Pressure Gas Industry Association (THPGIA), and the National Taipei University of Technology (NTUT), the annual event shares important safety information and best practices in the industry and promotes safety awareness to all involved in industrial gas operations.
John Miao, President of the THPGIA and also Managing Director of Linde Lienhwa in Taiwan (pictured right), gave an opening speech to welcome the audience and expressed his appreciation for the efforts – and funding – of the various organisations that co-organised the seminar, and also to the speakers who shared their knowledge. He noted that, “…gas consumption is increasing in Taiwan every year, especially in the electronics industry. It is important to be very careful during the operations or it would result in serious personnel injuries and death and losses of properties.”
He expressed hope that the attendees would learn a lot from the seminar and could prevent incidents in the future.
