An introduction to…Modular bundles and manifolds

Efficient to produce, ship, assemble and repair, the modular cylinder bundle is ‘green’ by default and considered by many to be the way forward in packaged gases.

The lightweight construction plays a significant role in each step of the life-cycle from manufacture, to assembly, handling, repairs and maintenance. Bolted frames eliminate the need for welding and painting, not only in the assembly process but more importantly in the repair, maintenance and repurposing stages. The equipment developed by CEFRANK features lightweight, galvanised frames that are easy to handle and reduce the total weight of the bundle by up to 50% compared to existing models in the field.

However, the frame is not the only place where CEFRANK has adopted the modular concept. The company has also developed its DC range of state-of-the-art, modular manifolds, comprised of stainless steel pipe (pigtails), leak-resistant connectors, forged brass cylinder t-blocks and stainless steel valve adaptors. DC stands for ‘daisy chain’ – a metaphor describing the way the separate pieces interconnect to form a whole. Designed to withstand a working pressure of up to 30MPa, the manifolds are compatible and interchangeable for use with all gases, while it is standard to tailor the manifold configuration to suit customer requirements.
