Hydrogen is becoming one of the energy-carriers for the future. Due to big challenges facing society, like climate change, global warming, greenhouse gas reduction, and increasing city pollution, hydrogen could play a key role in the transition to renewable energy.
Its application as an alternative fuel for a clean mobility is now more visible for the public; this year has been a turning point with the launch of different hydrogen fuel cell cars from major car manufacturers like Hyundai, Honda, Toyota, and also the launch of hydrogen range extender kits to be fitted onto standard electric cars like the HyKangoo from SymbioFCell.
This article focuses on the new use of hydrogen as a source of energy for the next generation of fuel cell electric vehicles, the need for compact and integrated onboard storage, and features a 70 MPa all-in-one on-tank valve designed and currently being developed by Ad-Venta, a French engineering company.
