Early 2014 saw Worthington Industries announce the acquisition of Turkey’s Aritas, one of Europe’s leading LNG and cryogenic equipment companies.
With Aritas a manufacturer of LNG ISO containers, LNG bulk tanks, LNG transport trailers and satellite stations for re-gasification, and Worthington having built a recent history in alternative fuels technology, the acquisition of a 75% stake in the company was described as a natural fit.
Within five years, and after a period of significant turbulence in LNG equipment markets as global oil prices fell in 2015/16, however, Aritas effectively found itself on the market once more and in a period of uncertainty. Along came Broadview Energy Solutions, itself a specialist in the distributive LNG business.
