Privately held and headquartered in the UK, with additional offices in Germany, India and the US, Carbon Clean Solutions Limited (CCSL) is a process technology company specialising in the removal of carbon dioxide (CO₂) from industrial gas streams.
This is fast becoming a crowded space, such is both the environmental need and the potential for new CO2 sourcing routes that can help to bridge gaps in the traditional supply chain. But this particular story started in 2009, when Aniruddha Sharma and co-founder Prateek Bumb hatched the original idea for the company while they were both students at the Indian Institute of Technology Kharagpur (IIT Kharagpur).
“We knew that fossil fuels would continue to play a vital role in helping the world meet its energy needs, and we also believed only technological solutions could make a difference in helping the world tackle the challenge of climate change,” says Sharma.
