CGA launches Young and Emerging Professionals Summit

Across CGA’s long history, we have leveraged the industry’s leading experts to develop publications that are at the forefront of industry safety. With the accelerating retirement of many of our industry’s most senior subject matter experts, the Compressed Gas Association (CGA) must play an active role in fostering the essential knowledge transfer from this generation of safety leaders to the next.

As Jack Finn, President of FIBA Technologies, Inc. and CGA 2020 Board Chair has said, “It’s critically important that we continue to recruit and support the next generation of CGA technical leaders, to assure [our] future.”

Discussions around succession planning are vital to the continued growth and success of our industry. Data provided by the Bureau of Labor Statistics indicates that more than one-third of the US science and engineering labor force will turn over in the next 10 years. Coupled with economic growth, that retirement rate is projected to create more than 511,000 job openings in science and engineering fields. While the gases industry represents a small portion of the national figure, those statistics hold true for CGA committee participants and our industry at large.
