Chart Helps Customers Meet New Beverage Systems Standards

Quality standards for carbonated beverage fountain drinks continue to increase with greater focus on beverage grade carbon dioxide (CO2) and its related storage system equipment.

Additionally, there is stricter enforcement within beverage systems on correctly installed vent and fill hose connections, including compatible material specifications for temperature and pressure. Regulations covering the installation on beverage bulk CO2 tanks may vary by location. Installers should understand the local requirements and insure all permitting, registration, and installation regulations are followed.

To support recent quality standard updates for beverages, Chart has introduced new beverage CO2 fill and vent hoses that follow industry standards for beverage quality and material specifications. Liquid CO2 transfer hoses are a part of the overall beverage system that must be compatible for use with CO2 and should be made of components that will not affect the quality of the fountain drink. The new Chart fill hose kits, which connect the Carbo Series™ bulk beverage CO2 tanks to the remote fill box are plasticizer free, have a minimum burst pressure of four times the working pressure, and have been tested for exposure to -109°F. The flexible vent hose, used to connect the bulk tank pressure relief system to the remote fill box, is also rated for exposure to -109°F, and has a burst pressure of four times the working pressure of the tank.
