CO2 purification and liquefaction – Recovering carbon dioxide to mitigate climate change

In an increasingly buyer-driven market, today’s consumers expect more individualised products at nonetheless competitive prices. To achieve this under growing price and time pressures, companies such as The Linde Group are now following the lead of the automotive industry by modularising their product landscape.

Industrial gases may be invisible to the naked eye, but they are ubiquitous – carbon dioxide (CO2) included. Although this gas is better known for its contribution to climate change, it has in fact many more – less well-known – useful, everyday applications.It is used, for instance, to carbonate beverages, preserve food, desalinate water, extinguish fires and enhance greenhouse growth. It is also found in cooling/freezing, cryogenic cleaning, cutting/welding, healthcare, pharmaceutical and oil recovery applications.
