Controlled organic and acquisitive growth: An interview with Control Devices

For Control Devices, what started off as a St. Louis-based pneumatic valve company is now a widely recognized designer and manufacturer of highly engineered flow control products, such as valves, regulators, disconnect couples and related engineered products. Today, just under 60 years since that vision came to light, the company is still located in the St. Louis area, bigger and better than ever.

Since its inception, Control Devices has been on quite some journey, and through a recent conversation with the firm, gasworld understands inorganic growth is something high on its hit list. This vision has in-fact recently been highlighted through deals with Essex Industries and Harrison Valve. Both of these transactions, and others much like it, have been pivotal to Control Devices’ unprecedented growth.

In the most recent strategic move carried out by Control Devices, the company expanded its product offering after announcing the acquisition of Essex Industries’ medical gas regulator product line. Formalized in February (2022), the deal saw a huge increase in Control Devices’ portfolio in the medical regulator space and its customer base.
