Cryogenic containers set for vital role

One of the biggest influences on our lives and industry in 2021 will be the roll out of the coronavirus (Covid-19) vaccine, and cryogenic containers are set to play a key role in a return to normality. Cryogenic shippers and equipment makers, as well as dry ice producers/distributors and equipment makers, are set to play a crucial role in things getting back to what we used to take for granted.

But challenges lie ahead for the distribution of coronavirus vaccines by cryogenic containers and shipping containers. To get an understanding of the situation, gasworld spoke to Cryoport, a provider of cold chain logistics solutions with headquarters in Brentwood, Tennessee; new player IC Biomedical, which was created last month when private equity firm Milton Street Capital announced the simultaneous acquisition of the Life Sciences business of Worthington Industries and International Cryogenics, Inc., and Reflect Scientific, which develops technologies in cryogenic cooling with headquarters in Orem, Utah.
