We all see the small-scale LNG market as becoming more and more important for our industry as the demand for LNG is increasing in several regions of the world for different sectors, such as transportation and power generation.
LNG is starting to become a real alternative to diesel, and thanks to the experience of dozens of companies in the cryogenic field, equipment is available whether it comes from the industrial gases or the natural gas industry.
Nevertheless, in terms of sizes, and equipment configuration, the industrial gases industry seems to be closer to what’s being currently asked for in terms of small-scale LNG flow and capacity. Therefore, the past years have seen a lot of companies evolving their equipment to cope with the demand for small-scale LNG. Cryostar was an early mover and started to adapt some of its products to LNG, seeing the potential of this market for the future. Thanks to its involvement in LNG carriers with its boil-off gas (BOG) handling equipment, this move was quite natural for other equipment and especially pumps.
