Researchers predict online sales will reach one trillion dollars by 2020. Anyone with something to sell must seriously consider their place within the connected world of ecommerce.
Often, distributors feel helpless against the forces of Amazon.com believing the Amazon experience is the only one customers will respond to. But there are very productive strategies companies can successfully deploy relative to ecommerce that will guarantee success in the ‘connected world’ of smartphones, tablets, and Amazon.
The customer comes first – Companies are built by making the customer #1. So it stands to reason that serving your customer first should remain the bedrock of your ecommerce strategy. Don’t take your eye off this ball! There’s an addictive distraction in the belief (or hope) ecommerce is going to bring more customers. Hope is not a strategy. Getting more customers through an ecommerce portal is certainly a realistic expectation but, if more customers is the center of your strategy, you’ve already taken your eye off of the ball—remember: your customers come first, not your prospective customers.
