FABTECH 2013

FABTECH 2013 will be held at McCormack Place in Chicago, Illinois in November, and North America’s largest metal forming, fabricating, welding, and finishing event is expected to attract record numbers. More than 35,000 attendees and 1,500 exhibitors are expected at the show, which covers more than 550,000 net square feet of floor space.

“FABTECH is an action-packed, four-day show that’s a must-see event for anyone who wants to take the pulse of manufacturing in the United States,” said John Catalano, show co-manager. “Attendees have the opportunity to see new products and new technologies, allowing them to create new ideas, new suppliers, and new solutions for working smarter and becoming more competitive. As important, attendees and exhibitors also join a network they can access year round that fosters knowledge and contacts, [which enable them] to stay current with industry developments in the year to come.”

FABTECH’s annual expo comes as manufacturing continues to experience a renaissance in the United States. While challenges remain, manufacturers in the US added 41,000 jobs over the past year and more than a half million jobs since 2010. In fact, manufacturing employment is up on a year-overyear basis for the thirty-second consecutive month, the longest such streak since 1979.

“The economy and our sector is seeing growth and that means that attending FABTECH is more important than ever for manufacturers who want to stay ahead of the competition and discover the latest technologies, develop partnerships, exchange ideas and, of course, connect with potential buyers and suppliers,” said Mark Hoper, show co-manager.”
