Day One: Robot Takeover at McCormick Place
Calling FABTECH huge would be underselling it. Nearly 1,800 exhibitors gathered at the convention center at McCormick Place in Chicago from Nov. 9-12, and in the North and South Halls and then some they plied their wares in robotics, welding technology, additive manufacturing/3D printing, safety gear, education, and so much more. The resulting sprawl was like a museum of the future, spanning multiple city blocks in an overwhelming output of information, innovation, and commerce. Across the street, Lake Michigan looked positively serene in comparison.
