Kelley GTM Manufacturing LLC, a leading provider of gas transportation equipment in the US, is now offering helium trailers with capacity that exceeds the capacity of traditional jumbo tube trailers by 89%.
Kelley GTM, based in Amarillo, Texas, is part of the Ken Kelley Family of companies, which has a long history of innovation in the gases industry including the development of the first jumbo tube trailer in 1960. The company is marketing the new LightStore trailers as an authorised distributor of the tube manufacturer, LightSail Energy.
The LightStore trailers are the highest capacity trailers available that meet the 80,000 lb. limit for gross vehicle weight (GVW) applicable to most US highways. When filled to their maximum allowable working pressure of 3,625 psi (250 bar), the trailers will hold around 340,000 SCF (standard cubic feet) of gaseous helium, which compares to a maximum of around 180,000 SCF for the traditional steel jumbo tube trailers that are the current industry standard.
