Major players in the industry, like Tier One companies, have the budgets to allow them the ability to research new technologies that improve the industry for them and, subsequently, the industry itself as it adopts the techniques discovered. Innovation is key.
In fact, in an interview with gasworld in 2012, Air Liquide’s Vice-President of R&D, Olivier Delabroy spoke of the importance of innovation, working with customers, and capturing even more value.
Capturing value is key, but how much value is placed in green innovation? The Air Liquide Foundation is a philanthropic organisation that has been supporting research programmes on the environment and healthcare since its creation in 2008. The foundation lists the Environment as one of three pillars it targets to improve and states that it supports, “Scientific research on protecting the environment favouring everything that can contribute to preserving our planet’s atmosphere.”
