Hydrogen generation: Gas recovery systems for float glass lines

HyGear is testing a recycling system to recover hydrogen and nitrogen from industrial processes. Opportunities lie in the reduction of operational utility costs (hydrogen and nitrogen), therefore the system fits well with the objectives for  cost and energy savings in the glass and metals industries.

HyGear, specialised in the development of turnkey gas processing systems, offers hydrogen generation systems that can be installed on-site. These systems can be applied in hydrogen filling stations and in industries like metal treatment and flat glass production. Decentralised hydrogen production offers a safer, more reliable and cost attractive alternative to conventional hydrogen supply by tube trailers or electrolysers and significantly lowers the environmental impact.

To reduce costs even further, HyGear is working on a gas recovery system (Hy.REC) to recover the hydrogen and nitrogen from the production process.
