Either installing or upgrading your cylinder filling plant is a significant and important investment that can not only be costly, but complex. One size doesn’t fit all when it comes to fill plants, but it’s important to begin the process by looking at some high-level considerations.
The first consideration, says Ric Boyd, Managing Partner of CryoVation, a cylinder-filling equipment company based in Hainesport, NJ, is to select equipment that not only provides for current needs, but which can be easily upgraded later.
“This prevents possible obsolescence of equipment that has not been designed for expansion or upgrading,” says Boyd, who adds that – in selecting the right equipment – you should be sure to consider higher purity requirements (UHP) and pressures (i.e. filling to 300 bar (4500 PSI) or higher.
