Product Safety is clearly something that concerns everyone in the industrial gases business. It’s the very glue that holds all the various components of our business together – providing the strength to perform and the confidence to be profitable.
So it was no surprise that some new faces were attracted to this year’s Winter Session. Held at the same venue as last year’s event, with the same structure of a one day training course on the basics of oxygen safety, followed by a day and a half of presentations from leading figures on the session’s main subject – companies such as Air Liquide, Air Products, The Linde Group, Messer Group, and Praxair were all represented.
Gas misuse – whether in the proper use of gases in the homecare sector, or the unauthorised use by untrained cooks in experimental cryo-cooking – was highlighted as one of the key issues requiring rectification by a number of speakers.
