While we’ve seen a drop in some areas – the fall in the oil market generally has had an effect on our customers – this has been more than matched by increased demand elsewhere. Power still needs to be generated, and there needs to be close monitoring and control of the emissions this produces. Essential goods still need to be manufactured from their hydrocarbon feedstocks, and semiconductors are even more important than before – with more people working remotely, demand is higher than ever, and that means more high-purity gases are needed. Crucially, medical gases still need to be created and checked for purity. All these sectors need to be supported by accurate and reliable gas analysis, so for us, business goes on much as before.
