Air Products’ proprietary technology is vital to helping meet the world’s increasing energy needs and desire for clean energy, processing and cryogenically liquefying valuable natural gas for consumer and industrial use.
The company has manufactured LNG heat exchangers for over 45 years. Typically, an LNG heat exchanger can be as large as over 15 feet in diameter and 180 feet long, or about two-thirds of the size of a football field. A finished unit can weigh as much as 500 tonnes. These are big units and, thanks to the rise of LNG, increasingly big business.
In September 2016, Air Products celebrated the completion of the first LNG heat exchanger manufactured at its new Port Manatee production facility. This new facility at the Florida location produces LNG technology as part of responding to the needs of the LNG export industry in the US.
