Following on from a successful first event in London in 2013, the Global Helium Summit 2.0 took place in the traditional home of helium production, the US – shining a spotlight on the dynamics currently shaping the face of the global helium supply chain.
Hosted at the Doubletree by Hilton Hotel in New Jersey, more than 150 industry specialists gathered for the second ever Global Helium Summit in September, eager to discuss which path this precarious supply chain could take.
Despite the market showing signs of reaching stablization, a number of keynote speakers reflected upon the growing concern about the future of the supply chain, with supply source security at the forefront of discussions. Crucially, the event analyzed its return to equilibrium but, as many presentations throughout the day affirmed, how long the industry can expect to enjoy this balance is anybody’s guess.
