All Safe Global (ASG) has got some big ambitions that go beyond operating from its two locations in Minneapolis and Phoenix. Acquiring Phoenix, Arizona-based Thunderbird Cylinder last year was the first step in a strategy to set up a national network with multiple locations run by the DOT cylinder requalifier and wholesale distributor of equipment for the compressed gas, beverage production, and fire suppression industries.
ASG, founded in 1976, expanded its presence to the western US with the acquisition of Thunderbird in November. Now, it has two locations which provide Ultrasonic Examination, HydroStatic Testing and customization. Among the driving factors to make the acquisition was ASG CEO and President Matt Boettner’s strategy for a national network of cylinder requalification centers.
“I was really excited to get Thunderbird under the All Safe umbrella because that company specifically has a really good track record with safety and regulatory compliance and that’s one of the things that is really important for us,” Boettner told gasworld.
