Opportunities in abundance – Maximising the hydrogen supply

Everybody knows that the world is in desperate need of cleaner fuels. It is now widely accepted that we need to cut greenhouse gases as a matter of urgency.

As if that wasn’t enough, the crude oil reserves upon which global transport is so dependent are by nature bound to become scarcer over time – regardless of the current somewhat relaxed market situation.

Hydrogen appears an obvious solution to this problem. For one, it is incredibly clean – hydrogen combustion produces only oxygen and water. Furthermore, it is the most abundant element in nature. If we can harness its potential, hydrogen can drive us towards reducing and ultimately eliminating carbon dioxide (CO2) emissions.
