Supercritical carbon dioxide (sCO2) is the magic ingredient in Fusion Coolant Systems’ lubricant products, Pure-Cut® and Pure-Cut®+, which are being rapidly adopted by Blue Chip companies to make mission critical components across the medical, aerospace, and automotive sectors.
Fusion is seeing growing interest and sales in its sCO2 lubricant products as customers are attracted to its improved efficiency, increased productivity and tool life, safety and sustainability benefits. The Canton, Michigan-based company uses patented sCO2 technology, which outperforms emulsions and straight oils conventionally used for CNC machining lubrication. Additionally, Pure-Cut outperforms cryogenic or liquid nitrogen solutions offered by the industrial gas sector.

For us, a project often takes six months of working with a customer before it turns into a sale. A customer gets intrigued by our technology, then does some trials maybe at our headquarters, or their own research centers. It’s a process by which customers get to know our technology, they get excited about it and then they usually apply it to a specific problem or new program they are launching. Sometimes they don’t become a full customer for two years. It was a challenge when we started, but now we have companies that are at all stages of that sales cycle.
