Pittcon is the premier annual conference and exposition on laboratory science. This year, the conference will be held in Atlanta, Georgia, at the Georgia World Conference Center, from March 13 to March 18, 2011.
Pittcon is organized by 95 dedicated volunteers who work in or are retired from various scientific disciplines. This dynamic group of people is formed into committees and is assisted by a highly skilled staff.
The Conference is sponsored by two technical societies, the Spectroscopy Society of Pittsburgh (SSP) and the Society for Analytical Chemists of Pittsburgh (SACP).
The Pittsburgh Conference donates nearly a million dollars each year in the form of science equipment grants, research grants, scholarships and internships for students, awards to teachers and professors, and grants to public science centers, libraries, and museums. Proceeds from Pittcon fund science education and outreach at all levels, kindergarten through adult.
