Established in 1894 as the first psychiatric hospital in the Middle East, 2014 sees The Sarah Herzog Hospital reach 120 years of operation. Since the late 1960s the hospital has become a general geriatric infirmary, offering treatment for the elderly as well as the mentally ill.
The third largest hospital in Jerusalem, and one of the few in Israel combining both geriatric and psychiatric healthcare, the Sarah Herzog Hospital is also at the forefront of autonomous oxygen generation in the region.
Medical oxygen produced via oxygen generators only gained real recognition in Europe three years ago with the publication of the European Oxygen 93 monograph, yet this means of supply has been prevalent in the US and other regions of the world for some time – including the Middle East, it seems.
