Founded in 1930, and celebrating its 75th anniversary this year, Red Ball Oxygen (redballoxygen.com) continues to be a leader in the distribution of industrial gases.
Today, Red Ball Oxygen has 200 employees at 19 branches throughout Louisiana, Arkansas, and Texas, and also serves additional customers in Oklahoma and Missouri. Growing from its past successes (see “Red Ball Oxygen,” CryoGas International, August/September 2012, p. 46), in 2003 Red Ball launched its Technical Gas Services (TGS) division which supplies its customers with a wide variety of specialty gas offerings. Today the TGS division provides direct delivery in Arkansas, Louisiana, Oklahoma, and Texas, and also services numerous customers outside of its direct delivery area, from New York to as far as Alaska.
The TGS division’s specialty gas laboratory is located in Shreveport, Louisiana. As Red Ball evolved from a low volume manufacturer to a main provider in the specialty gas market, its technology and capabilities have also evolved to keep pace with consumer demands, especially at the Shreveport lab. Red Ball is continually re-investing in equipment and personnel to meet demand. Proof of this is its installation of a fully automated gas certification system supported by its own customized software program at the lab.
