As business grew for Uttam Group of Companies, Karan Bhatia was considering the best way to meet the demand of customers for Type 3 cylinders when the opportunity arose to acquire Catalina Composites and enter the US energy market.
“Catalina came around at the right time for us,” Uttam CEO Bhatia told gasworld. “We were growing at such a rate that we needed our own manufacturing facility to cater to the expanding market.”
The New Delhi, India-based conglomerate, which specializes in the production of ultra-lightweight composite cylinders and systems for compressed natural gas and hydrogen, needed to make an acquisition or build its own manufacturing facility to keep up with demand.
