Hyperbaric oxygen therapy (HBOT) eases breathing problems for Covid-19 patients quicker than standard therapy, according to a recent study into the benefits of hyperbaric oxygen therapy for those suffering from Covid-19.

HBOT is a well-established treatment for decompression sickness, a potential risk of scuba diving, but it has increased in popularity in recent years to become something of a wellness trend, with claims it can improve brain function. Athletes have been using hyperbaric oxygen therapy (from swimmer Michael Phelps to LA Lakers star LeBron James and Seattle Seahawks quarterback Russell Wilson) to speed up recovery from injuries and fatigue, and low of inflammation. Just last month it was reported that soccer star Cristiano Ronaldo bought a HBOT chamber to help maintain his stamina. Others have sought it out for improved immunity with conditions such as ME or fatigue, and even help those suffering from long Covid (symptoms continuing for more than 12 weeks after an infection).

You don’t have to have a condition to book a HBOT session and it has been hailed as a process that can have anti-aging effects and even reverse Alzheimer’s disease pathology, according to a recent study from researchers at Tel Aviv University.
