From its corporate base in Oldsmar, Florida, Gasco is the leading and only independent manufacturer of precision calibration gas mixtures in the US and a major player on the international stage, providing a wide range of simple mixtures such as ultra high purity (UHP) nitrogen, as well as complex four-gas mixtures and highly reactive gas mixtures.
It’s a position of leadership that the company has established in quick order. Gasco Affiliates LLC was founded by Tom Hanway in 1999, up until which time he had spent his career in gas detection, analytical instrumentation and the sample handling side of the business; this knowledge of the market and entrepreneurship provided the opportunity to see a missing link in the calibration gas market.
At that time, there was one company dominating the disposable calibration gas market, and Hanway envisioned the need for a safety distributor focused calibration gas supplier. Gasco’s original market strategy was to provide calibration gas exclusively through safety distributors.
