Thyracont Vacuum Instruments develops, produces and supplies intelligent vacuum metrology made in Germany. Founder of the company, Dipl. Ing. Heinz Plöchinger, has been intrigued with technology from an early age.
After studying electrical engineering in Munich and after six years of gaining professional experience as a development and consulting engineer, he founded the company in 1970.
The company’s first ‘factory’ was a small car garage in his hometown in the Bavarian Forest. Here, the young engineer rose to the challenge of his first customer’s request, for an innovative solution for his measurement and regulation tasks. Developing a stable, non-breakable vacuum sensor for his customer’s novel plants, Heinz Plöchinger lay the foundation of Thyracont’s later key business.
