Turning trash into treasure: Kore’s green hydrogen mission

When you throw away your household, agricultural or animal waste, do you ever think about the potential that waste just may have? Today, there are a variety of companies across the globe that are looking to stop waste going into landfill, whether it be through recycling, creating art, creating a new product altogether or utilizing it for a different use.

Achieving something that the company says, “has never been done before” Kore’s technology uses a low pyrolysis process that subjects organic feedstock to a temperature in excess of 1,000°F in the complete absence of oxygen. With this, the firm causes volatile solids to convert to an energy-dense biogas that can be use directly to produce heat, power, and/or steam; or upgraded to renewable natural gas and fuel cell quality hydrogen.
