20 year supply deal agreed for first Arab Emirate glass plant

One of the largest manufacturers of float glass and fabricated glass products, Guardian Industries has selected Dubai-based Emirates Industrial Gas Company (EIGC) to provide gas solutions to its first gas plant being built in the United Arab Emirates.

The Michingan based company has signed a 20-year Build-Own-Operate gas supply scheme contract with EIGC for Guardian RAK, a new float glass facility that will soon rise in the emirate of Ras Al Khaimah. This is the first time a gas solutions provider has been involved in a gas supply scheme contract of this magnitude.

As per the contract, EIGC shall provide facilities for nitrogen, hydrogen and oxygen to support the 700 tpd of glass production produced by Gaurdian RAK to meet the growing demands for float glass in the fields of automotive and construction industries in the region.

EIGC has proposed their Air Cryo ASU so Guardian RAK can access the oxygen gas onsite to run their furnaces. $quot;EIGC is focused on reliable, right specification and continuous supply of hydrogen, nitrogen and oxygen gases so that we can better serve Guardian RAk and they in turn can better serve their customers,$quot; said senior vice-president Hareth Al-Khaled, EIGC.
