Accenture, Climeworks develop digital plant solution to advance carbon capture

A digital plant solution has been developed to help Climeworks more efficiently remove carbon dioxide (CO2) from the atmosphere.

Part of a multi-service collaboration between Accenture and Climeworks, the digital solution spans strategy, design, digital engineering, technology and cloud.

A direct air capture (DAC) expert, Climeworks offers CO2 removal as a service to companies and individuals. Its newest plant in Iceland, called “Orca,” will capture 4,000 tonnes of CO2 annually.

“Our vision is to inspire one billion people to remove CO2 from the air,” said Daniel Egger, Chief Commercial Officer at Climeworks. “To bring it to life, we keep strengthening our offering for consumers and corporate clients – and Accenture has been playing a key role.”
