AFC Energy forms collaboration with De Nora to accelerate fuel cell technology

Industrial fuel cell power company, AFC Energy PLC, has signed a Joint Development Agreement (JDA) with Italian corporation, De Nora S.p.A, to further accelerate AFC Energy’s technology platform.

The collaboration, of which financial details were not disclosed, is aiming to enhance the technologies behind AFC Energy’s alkaline fuel cell system, which converts hydrogen (H2) into ‘clean’ electricity.

The company is now focusing on delivering a technically optimised, commercial fuel cell system, building upon its established pipeline of commercial opportunities.

The relationship and the proposed programme for collaboration will significantly build on the recent successes of AFC Energy

It is understood that De Nora already has multiple existing commercial applications that it is considering integrating AFC Energy’s technology into, opening a range of new potential markets. One such project is alleged to be in the water treatment market.
