Afrox appoints new chairman

African Oxygen Limited (Afrox) announced that Mike Huggon has been appointed chairman of the Afrox board of directors, with effect from 20th May 2011.

Huggon is currently Managing Director of BOC UK, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Afrox’s controlling shareholder, The Linde Group of Germany.

Current Afrox chairman, Kent Masters, will relinquish his position following the company’s annual general meeting on 19th May.

Huggon, 55, has many years experience of the global gases and welding products industry. He first joined the then BOC Group, subsequently acquired by The Linde Group, in 1978 working in a range of commercial and operational roles in the UK.
