Afrox expands

Afrox has approved six new capital projects that it will implement at a cost of R300m over the next two years according to allAfrica.com.

The projects would expand and upgrade Afrox’s production facilities, the group said in its annual report, released on Monday.

The announcement follows on the heels of a R100m expansion programme at the company’s gases operations centre in Germiston where it has started producing a range of new products, which has meant a boost for exports.

According to managing director Rick Hogben exports showed above-average growth this year. The company was also expanding its activities in Africa, establishing new branches in Angola, Tanzania and the Democratic Republic of Congo and acquired a gases and welding business in Malawi.
