Air Liquide and TOTAL open new hydrogen station in Germany

Air Liquide and TOTAL have opened a new hydrogen (H2) filling station in Hirschberg an der Bergstrasse.

Situated directly on the A5 motorway, on the grounds of the TOTAL Hirschberg motorway service station, It is the 14th public H2 station in Baden-Württemberg and Germany’s fourth H2 station at a motorway service area.

The new station in Hirschberg is one of Germany’s 50 first H2 filling stations, built as part of the Clean Energy Partnership (CEP) and supported by the Federal Ministry of Transport and Digital Infrastructure via its National Innovation Programme for Hydrogen and Fuel-cell Technology (NIP). The BMVI subsidised the construction and operation of the H2 station on Goldbeckstrasse with around €900,000 ($1.1m).
