Air Liquide Brasil has officially inaugurated its air separation unit (ASU) in Ortigueira, representing the company’s first plant in the Brazilian state of Paraná.
The Brazil-based business branch of Tier One player Air Liquide invested $144m Brazil Reals ($42.4m) in the new facility, which will produce around 160 tonnes per day (tpd) of oxygen (O2) primarily for sustainable cellulose bleaching.
The site will also produce tonnage quantities of nitrogen (N2) and argon (Ar) to meet the growing needs of industry and healthcare customers in the region.
The new ASU was designed and engineered by Air Liquide Group’s Engineering and Construction teams using the latest in energy efficiency and safety technology.
