Vitalaire in Germany and Schulke & Mayr in Austria, both subsidiaries of Air Liquide acquire new medical companies.
Vitalaire GmbH based in Hamburg, has acquired Braun Meditec, a company specialising in respiratory homecare activities in South Germany. The company generates around €2 million, serving around 2,000 patients.
Schulke & Mayr based in Norderstedt close to Hamburg, has acquired the Austrian company Arcana. They specialise in disinfection products for hospitals and use by medical professionals. Around three quarters are marketed in Austria and the last quarter in Central Europe. Arcana’s annual sales are in the region of €3 million.
Commenting on the two acquisitions, Jean-Marc de Royere, Chairman of Air Liquide Health International and member of Air Liquide’s Executive Committee said,Air Liquide Sante participates to the containment of healthcare expenses in Germany and Austria, and has developed well adapted products and services, which ensure patients of high quality care. These targeted acquisitions will reinforce our position in these two countries and allow a further development in Central Europe.
