Air Liquide installs first hydrogen charging station in downtown Paris

Air Liquide has installed the first hydrogen charging station in downtown Paris, France, in partnership with electric taxi start-up company STEP (Société du Taxi Electrique Parisien) and the Paris City Council.

It will be the first hydrogen charging station inside the city of Paris.

The station will be located in the heart of Paris, at Cours Albert Ier, in the Pont de l’Alma public parking lot, and will enable the deployment of the ‘hype’ fleet of hydrogen-powered electric taxis serving the Greater Paris area.

This hydrogen-powered vehicle fleet, initially composed of five Hyundai ix35 cars, should number around 70 vehicles within a year and as many as several hundred within the next five years.
