Tier One corporation, Air Liquide, has deployed a hydrogen (H2) station in Prelocentre’s warehouse in Saint-Cyr-en-Val, France, to recharge its onsite forklifts.
Prelocentre’s site is the first all-H2 warehouse in Europe – already utilising 46 forklifts in day-to-day operations. It is responsible for preparing and delivering fruits and vegetables to all the Grand Frais supermarket stores in the west of the country.
The newly implemented station can recharge a forklift in just three minutes, providing an average driving time of eight hours.
This rollout is in line with new clean mobility models expected by contemporary society
The installation aims to set the stage for H2-powered forklifts within warehouses and airports across Europe as this method of fuelling provides a reduced charging time and increased safety for operators.
