Air Liquide sells its interest in Sechilienne-Sidec

As of June 17 2005, Air Liquide has agreed to sell its 39.5% share interest in Sechilienne-Sidec to Apax Partners France for 162.3 million euros at 300 euros a share.

Sechilienne-Sidec builds and operates steam and electricity production units from renewable energy sources and focuses on niche markets: energy production through cogeneration in the Indian Ocean and Caribbean regions and more recently France through wind generated electricity.

The transaction follows a re-examination of its investment portfolio in line to the group’s core activities where Sechilienne-Sidec’s products occupy a specific market, enabling Air Liquide to further strengthen its investment capacity in Large Industries, Asia and Healthcare.
