Yesterday the French industrial gas magnate, Air Liquide, publicised a significant contract signing with Posco E&C. To facilitate the agreement Air Liquide will design and build two ASUs, each with an oxygen production capacity of 3,750 per day.
The oxygen will be used to transform cast iron into steel. The project constitutes Air Liquide’s largest facility for a steelmaker.
François Darchis, Senior Vice-President in charge of Engineering and Construction, Research and Technology and a Member or Air Liquide’s Executive Committee, commented, “We are proud to have been able to contribute to Posco’s development for more than 25 years. Air Liquide’s strong historical relationship with Posco and mutual trust are major factors supporting our fruitful collaboration today.”
